He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Wing and Rosa Red Wing (James); his grandparents, Tom, Helen Red Wing, Ernest and Martha James; his aunts and uncles, Katherine, Doris, Mary, Alice, Lila, Cecil, Guy and Richard; and his siblings, Peggy Red Wing and Harvey La Croix.
He is survived by: his son Waylon Long (Michelle) of Cherokee; his sisters, Kimberly, Cynthia (Stuart), Roberta Red Wing (Rodney) of Santee, Goldie Flying Hawk (Sam) and Sandra Tweeten of Moorhead, Minnesota; his cousins, Rosie James of Santee and Val Trudell of Sioux City, Iowa; his aunts, Laura Rouillard of Santee and Lynn Rouillard of Santa Fe; his grandchildren, Luke, Royce, Lena, Delbert, Nomi, Kayden, Bent and Rosa; his nieces and nephews, Redina (Steve), Holli (Colton), Robyn, Taylor, Jake (Sam) and Wakute; and his cousin James Tiospaye. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
