She was predeceased by: her parents, Eddy Johnson and Alma Johnson (Closter); her husband Boyd "Gene" Whalen; her son Daniel Whalen; her siblings, Roseanne Sauser, Rick Johnson and Richard "Bud" Johnson; her parents-in-law, Leonard and Leona Whalen; and her siblings-in-law, Jay, Virginia Brown (Whalen), Vic, Tuck Caster (Whalen), Kenny, Dorothy Dowling (Whalen) and Augie Weiss.
She is survived by: her children, Mari Gilleland (Terry) of Prescott, AZ, Douglas Whalen of McLean, Michelle Sedlacek (Jim) of Onalaska, WI, Milissa Lackas (Tom) of Laurel and Dave Whalen (Rhonda) of Columbus; her sister Marianne Weiss of Wahoo; and her siblings-in-law, Beverly Johnson of Lincoln and Marvin Sauser of Indianola, IA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church (403 N Bridge St, Randolph, NE 68771). A rosary was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
