With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ilene E. Schmidt of Norfolk, Nebraska, born in Randolph, Nebraska, who passed away on March 15, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Bauer and Dorothy Bauer (Carstens); her husband George Schmidt, Jr.; her granddaughter Wendy Sue Schmidt; and her close friend Bill Suehl.
She is survived by: her children, Dan Schmidt (Deb) of Norfolk, Kelly Wiener (Arnie) of Nemaha, IA and Dave Schmidt of Lincoln; her grandchildren, Tyler Schmidt (Jenn) of Battle Creek, Levi Schmidt (Amy) of Norfolk, Bethany Schmidt (Adam) of Sioux Falls, SD, Nikki Regan (Tom) of Gretna, Drew Wiener (Erica) of Bellevue and Whitney Regnier (Dan) of Burnsville, MN; her great grandchildren, Kayden, Cammie, Sammi, Skylar, Boden, Maren, Hayes, Maci, Alli, Hailey and Hayden; her brother Merl Bauer (Red) of Huron, SD; and her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Schmidt and Katherine Goeglein. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.
