He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Ira M. DeWalt, Sr. and Dr. Grace P. Wagner-DeWalt; his siblings, James DeWalt and Priscilla DeWalt; his siblings-in-law, Duane Funk, Kenny Funk, Bob Beed, Barb Funk (Phil Funk), Lucy Bramon and Gayle Beed; his pets, Maximillian Von Goddard DeWalt and Flannel DeWalt; and his granddaughter Fauna DeWalt (Sebastian).
He is survived by: his wife Jan DeWalt of Norfolk; his daughter Jennifer DeWalt (Gene Geihsler) of Norfolk; his brother-in-law Bob Bramon of Norfolk; and his pet Moonie DeWalt of Norfolk. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
