She was predeceased by : her parents, Vernon Hausmann and Irene Hausmann (Kurpgeweit); her husband Jim Mewis; her parents-in-law, Thurston Mewis and Dolores Willers; her siblings, Shelley Hausmann and Dennis Hausmann; her stepgrandson Wade Wendt; and her brother-in-law Vern Reese.

She is survived by : her children, Kandee Wendt (Gary) and Jesse Mewis; her grandchildren, Hunter, Hailey Mewis, Korbee and Karly Wendt; her stepgrandchildren, Kym Wendt and Krys Magsamen (Jesse); her siblings, Sharlyn Grashorn (Eldon), Pam Anderson (Bob), Gregg Hausmann and Steve Hausmann; and her siblings-in-law, Keith Mewis (Irene) and Jan Reese.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Home For Funerals (1203 W Norfolk Ave, Norfolk, NE 68701). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Christ Lutheran Church (605 S 5th St, Norfolk, NE 68701).
