He is survived by: his wife Lavonne Shannon; his children, Elizabeth Davis (Robert) of Norfolk, Marie Reuter (Dwight) of Norfolk and Richard Hornik of Norfolk; his son-in-law Brian Armstrong of Austin, Texas; his grandchildren, Amanda Machuca (Ignacio), Megan Solorio (Isaias), Dana Armstrong, Adam Armstrong, Wyatt Hornik, Levi Hornik (Jordan Schulte) and Samantha Thompson (Jacob); his great grandchildren, Ethan, Audrina, Savannah Machuca, Wesley and Scarlett Thompson; his sister Donna Norris of San Diego; his nieces, Jolene Norris Schleppenbach (Gary) of Lincoln and Julie Norris Hill (Brent) of San Diego, California; and his brother-in-law John C. Shannon (Gina Deuel, family: Janet Shannon, Michael, Julie Shannon, Nancy Olcott).
