He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Oberle and Celia Oberle (Stoikes); his parents-in-law, John and Lydia Burkhardt; his siblings, Roland Oberle, Beatrice Wulf and Duane Oberle; his siblings-in-law, Verena Oberle (Thunker), Carl Wulf, Jack, Kay Burkhardt, Joe Pishel and Carol Straatmeyer (Pishel); and his grandchildren, Laura Talbott and Samuel Steffen.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Oberle (Burkhardt) of Norfolk, Nebraska; his children, Dwight Oberle (Connie) of Norfolk, Don Oberle (Susan) of Norfolk, Karen (Oberle) of Norfolk, Byron Kalin of Norfolk, Amy (Oberle) of Norfolk, Jeff Steffen of Norfolk, Gail (Oberle), Dean Talbott of Hoskins, Keith Oberle of Beatrice and Brian Oberle (Xiaojuan Liu) of Walnut Creek, CA; his siblings-in-law, Ben Straatmeyer and Rosalie Oberle of Stockton; and his cousins, Lorraine Calhoun, LaVonne DeCrona of Reno and Rosalie Vondracek (John) of Lincoln, Nebraska. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
