He is survived by: his children, Mark Nelson of Jefferson, Natalie Muldoon (Brian) of Deputy, Paul Nelson (Jill) of Norfolk and Deadra Shada (Gary) of Pierce; his grandchildren, Mickenzie Nelson, Masey Nelson (Josh), Britney Tyndall (Matthew), Hilary Hill (Nick), Brian Muldoon, Jr. (Rosemary), Anna Muldoon, Andy Muldoon, Charles Nelson, Saige Nelson, Katie Nelson, Brodey Nelson, Tori Nelson, Zach Kremlacek, Kendall Shada and Kylee Shada; his siblings, John Nelson of Wyoming and Marilyn Arnold of David City, Nebraska; and his sisters-in-law, Frieda Belculfine of California, Mabel Blatt of Monroe and Nadine Christensen of Norfolk.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Home For Funerals Chapel (708 Georgia Ave, Norfolk, NE 68701). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First Christian Church (1408 E Benjamin Ave, Norfolk, NE 68701).
