She was predeceased by : her parents, Adolph Mares and Wilma Mares of North Bend, NE.. She is survived by : her sisters, Judy Von Seggern (Kenneth) of Omaha and Carlene Keim (Bruce) of Syracuse, NE.. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Michael Lutheran Church or the Nebraska Humane Society.
