He was predeceased by: his parents, Ora Cooper and Velma Cooper (Thompson); his sister Irene Hood; and his parents-in-law, Bill and Thelma Kautz.

He is survived by: his wife Deloras; his children, Angela Barker (Brent) and Ben Cooper (Landy); his grandchildren, Brittany Thomsen (Jared), Kinzey Cooper, Brayden Barker and Kaden Cooper; his great grandchildren, Ty Kindig, Brynlee Thomsen and Paisley Barker; and his siblings-in-law, Sharron Meston and Bill Kautz (Pam) of North Platte. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
