It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kayla D. Shepherd of North Platte, Nebraska, who passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Clifford Southwell and Harriet Hagert (Hendricks); and her brother Jerry Southwell. She is survived by: her husband Roger "R. D." Shepherd; her children, Edward Hagert (Emma Jobman) of North Platte, Christopher Barber of North Platte, Sheila Alvarez of North Platte and Troy Aumiller-Bahl (Lacey) of Harvard; her grandchildren, Dicota, Alexis, Hailey Hagert, Emilio, Diego Alvarez, Laikyn Aumiller, Marissa Derio, Ensley Aumiller and Lazzara Barber; her great grandchildren, Grayson Wood and Aurorah Sanchez; her brothers, Clifford Southwell of North Platte and Tim Southwell of Kearney; and her close friends, Al Barber, Jackie, Richard, Abry Benitez and Laurie Keefer.
