He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Barner and Edith Barner (Utterback); and his in-laws, Jim and Marie Wever. He is survived by: his wife Janice "Jan" L. Barner of North Platte; his daughters, Julie Smith (Ryan) of Sidney and Lisa Cool (Brandon) of Kearney; his grandchildren, McKade Smith, Drennan, Haikan and Sivney Cool; his brother Byron Barner (Elaine) of Lincoln; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Wever, Deb, Neill Thompson, Kenny, Natalie, Kord and Neela Furrow. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
