He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore "Bud" Knox and Enda "Joan" Knox; his stepfather Raymond Smith; his niece Melissa Diehl; and his brother-in-law Ron Hepler.
He is survived by: his wife Dee Wilson of North Platte, NE; his children, Shelbi Knox of Raeford, NC, Toni Smit (Hendri) of North Platte, NE and Doug Todd (Kaylee) of Gothenburg, NE; his grandchildren, Kylee, Hunter, Griffin, Graham, Harlee "Gracie", Remmington "Marilynne" and Dresden "Rex"; and his siblings, Jim Smith (Lori) of Florida, Karen Hepler of Oregon, Judy Hanna (Tom) of New Mexico, Chris Gifford of Salina and Jackie Kelley (Jeff) of North Platte, NE. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous other family members and many friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to donations for a tree and the city parks.
