We announce the death of Thomas Lawrence Atencio in North Platte, Nebraska, who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 76. Thomas will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his mother Louise (Cabrales); and his siblings, Linda, Joann, Jane, Rosie, Vickie, Leo and Tim.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Atencio (Amanda) and Tammy Atencio; his grandsons, David, Daytona, Teylon, Thomas, Talea, Alexander, Charles, Nathaniel, Tayvian, Taecyn and Tryston; his great grandchildren, Thomas III and Grayson; and his sister Betty Martinez. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Carpenter Memorial Chapel (1616 W B St, North Platte, NE 69101). A memorial service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
