He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Apodaca and Lupe Apodaca; his grandparents, Herman, Anastasia Caudillo, Leno and Cora Apodaca Martinez; and his siblings, Nicky Apodaca and Diana Apodaca.
He is survived by: his children, Anthony, Jeromy Apodaca of North Platte, Virgil Apodaca, Jr. of Hastings, Isaiah Hausman of Missoula, MT, Amber Santos of Grand Island, Kerrisa Kelly (Lane) of Donavan, Natasha Smith of Lincoln and Sharradawn "Sezzy" Mendoza of Missouri; his siblings, Anna Smith (Jim) of North Platte, Colleen "Lena" Davis (Chuck) of Kearney and Danny Apodaca of Kearney; his uncle Herman Caudillo of Westminster, CO; and his aunt Jennie Lopez of North Platte. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many cousins.
