He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Gans and Flossie Gans (Ellis); his siblings, Denton Gans and Iola Napier; and his siblings' children, Sharon Napier, Janice VanLone, Bill Napier, Darald Napier, Dennis Gans and Max Gans.

He is survived by: his wife ArNez Darlene Vrana; his grandson Theodore "Ted" (Richelle); his great grandchildren, Gabriel Joseph, Rhett Theodore and Lilley Anne of McCook; and his nieces, Peg Wilson and Shirley Liden.
