He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Scheele and Agnes Louise Cordsen (Cordsen); and his siblings, Clarence Scheele, LaVerne Meyer, Norma VanLaningham and Evelyn Gunther.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Winkle; his children, Bill Scheele (Joy) of Odell, Tim Scheele (Jill) of Odell and Mary Jo Bures (Doug) of Odell; his grandchildren, Michael Steelman (Madison), William Scheele, Wyatt Scheele (Pyper), Cody Scheele, Jesse Scheele (Katlyn), Kirsten Larson (Evan) and Dalton Bures; his great grandchildren, Bryson, Scarlett, Colt Steelman and Jameson Scheele; and his siblings, Dorothy Scheele, Diane Waltke of Lincoln, Merlin Scheele and Ed Scheele (Carol) of Odell.

A memorial has been established to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
