He was predeceased by : his parents, Trinidad Diaz and Ester Diaz (Arellano); and his siblings, Salvador Diaz, James Diaz, Elvira Diaz, Bertha Hernandez, Josephine Blea, Dora Jimenez and Delia Jiminez.
He is survived by : his wife Simona Navarro of Julesburg; and his children, Rene Diaz Jr. of Piedmont, SD, Ricardo "Richard" Diaz of North Platte, Ramon "Raymond" Diaz (Jane) of Ogallala, Ruben Diaz (Karen) of North Platte, Simona M. Tolentino Jr. (Anselmo) of Brighton, CO and Sara Beam (Mike) of Sutherland. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Rene's memory for later designation by his family.
