He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Steinwart and Wanda J. Steinwart (Robinette); his stepfather David Mercer; his siblings, Janice and Clinton; his grandparents, Loren, Alma Robinette, Frank and Bessie Steinwart; his in-laws, Jim and Shirley Hurless; and his brother-in-law Mike O'Hara.
He is survived by: his wife Janet; his daughters, Valerie Steinwart of Grand Island and Julie Steinwart of Omaha; his siblings, Rodney Steinwart (LuAnn) of Kearney, Nebraska and Christy O'Hara of Windsor, Colorado; his siblings-in-law, Joyce Hurless of Omaha, Nancy Fontaine (Pat) of Holton, Kansas and Richard Hurless (Deb) of Oakland, Nebraska; Max, Ace and Tucker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the New Hope Church (319 E O St, Ogallala, NE 69153).
A memorial has been established in Roger's memory for later designation.
