It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alta Louise Garrels Dockendorff of Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Garrels and Edna Scarff Garrels; her daughter Mary Ellen Runnells; and her siblings, Roger, Ronald Garrels, Erma Mertens and Blanche Allen.
She is survived by: her daughters, Peggy Overley (Charles) of Omaha and Kay Wulf (David) of Tulsa Oklahoma. She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Danville Methodist Church (201 S Main St, Danville, IA 52623). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Jaggar Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Danville Methodist Church.
