We are sad to announce that, on April 24, 2026, at the age of 89, Annette Knoepfler in Omaha, Nebraska, born in Fort Dodge, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, J. Clare Robinson and Evelyn Walker Robinson; her former husband Donald Doughman; and her husband Donald Wilson Knoepfler. She is survived by: her son Karl Knoepfler (Janice); her grandchildren, Karlie and Allie of Omaha, NE; her children, William Doughman (Nancy) of Albertville, MN, Carol Knoepfler of Omaha, NE and James Doughman (Heej Ko); her grandchildren, Ryan and Alexander of Wilton, CT; her child Thomas Doughman (Lori); her granddaughters, Mariah and Hannah of Sherwood, WI; her daughter Amy Knoepfler Vinton (Brian); her granddaughters, Margaret and Katherine of Kearney, NE; her daughter Sarah Knoepfler Csanadi-Schwartz (Hartmuth); her grandchild Hennes of Omaha, NE; her son Robert Knoepfler; and her grandchildren, Charles and Rose of Duluth, MN.. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service (605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City, IA 52240). A graveside service was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Oakland Cemetery (1000 Brown St, Iowa City, IA 52245). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Bruton Parish Church (201 W Duke of Gloucester St, Williamsburg, VA 23185).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bruton Parish Church (https://onrealm.org) in Williamsburg, Virginia, in support of its music program, or to the University of Iowa Center for the Book.
