He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Tate and Esther Tate; his siblings, Jim Tate, Angelina Gassett, Vie Balzar and Merna Ward; and his sister-in-law Lillian Tate.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn; his daughter Jodi Tate (Henry); his stepdaughters, Jodi Groff (Matt), Jana Kampschneider (Keith), Sheri Swanson (Scott) and Nicole Detra; his brothers, Reginald Tate and Dick Tate (Diana); his son Paulo Koelle; and his friend Greg Schuchmann (Linda). He is also survived by nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the West Hills Church (3015 S 82nd Ave, Omaha, NE 68124). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to West Hills Church or the University of Illinois Football Enrichment Fund (Bill Tate).
