He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph F. Citta and Ann W. Citta (Chromy); and his son Michael "Mikey". He is survived by: his wife Maxine; his children, Steve Citta (Mary) of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Teresa Crowder (Joe) of Sidney and Cheri Schouten of Omaha; his grandchildren, Stephanie Klein (Scott) of Dayton, Joseph Citta (Lydia) of Bismarck, Erin Moore (Jason) of Torrington, Kyle Schouten (Amy) of Des Moines, Rachel Lee (Jeremy) of Sidney, Miranda Schouten (Zach) of Smithville and Thomas Twite of Axtell, Nebraska; and his sister Betty Mokay of Omaha. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Donations in his honor may be made to Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, where he was a proud participant in research during his life and death. In addition, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), in honor of his two grandsons having Diabetes.
