He was predeceased by: his parents, John Browning and Luella Browning (Hagen); his wives, Patricia (Pieper) and Nina; his son Joseph Walter; and his great grandchildren, Cameron Langfeldt and Chance.
He is survived by: his children, Norman James of Independence, MO, Carl Wendell Jr., Theresa Ann, Kathleen Jean of Omaha, NE and Brenda Kay Lowe of Clarinda, IA; and his siblings, Shirley Walasek of Richmond, KY and Betty Pierce of Rockford, IL. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and too many extended family.
