He was predeceased by: his father Don Scott of Sioux Falls; and his father-in-law Rodney Black of Omaha. He is survived by: his friend Trey; his wife Dana Scott (Black); his mother-in-law Karen Black of Omaha; his mother Eva Scott of Sioux Falls; his sister Elizabeth; his brother-in-law Lance Wilkinson of Sioux Falls; and his sister Valerie White (Paul).
