He was predeceased by: his parents, Nile V. Hemphill and Estella M. Hemphill (Klinge); his parents-in-law, Edward R. and Naomi Larsen (Madsen); his siblings, Jacqueline Richey (Ed), Sharon Barthuly, Marvin Hemphill and Bill Hemphill (Bev); his brother-in-law John Larsen (Jayne); his son-in-law Mark Jobman; and his grandson Zachary Jobman.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Hemphill (Larsen); his children, Rick Hemphill (Angel) and Karen Jobman (Hemphill); his sisters, Donna Whisenand (Rich) and Carol Austin; and his brother-in-law David Barthuly (Holly). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
