He is survived by: his wife Joyce Benedict of Omaha; his children, Jennifer Van Gent (Randy) of Cedar Falls, IA, Mark (Sandy) of Dubuque, IA, Mike (Jodi) of Lincoln, NE, Karen Hoogner (Todd) of Omaha and Judy Benedict of Omaha; his grandchildren, David Benedict, Thomas Van Gent, Rachael Benedict, Jack Van Gent, Carrie Russell (Paul), Sarah Benedict, Josh Hoogner, Josiah Benedict (Morgan), Emily Hoogner, Christine Anspach (Noah), Joelle Benedict, Olivia Stonerook and Catherine Benedict; his great grandchildren, Lydia, Abel Russell and Eliana Anspach; his siblings, Darlene Fischer of Lincoln, NE and John Benedict (Susanne) of Cape Coral, FL; and his sister-in-law Elaine Specht of Hastings, NE..

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Calendar FaithWestwood United Methodist Church (4814 Oaks Ln, Omaha, NE 68137). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Omaha National Cemetery (14250 Schram Rd, Omaha, NE 68138).
