He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Phillip, Sr. and Johnnie Mae Phillip; his grandmothers, Mollie Anderson and Emma Phillip; his siblings, James Phillip, Jimmy Phillip, Ollie Mae Phillip, Geneva Carlson, Lillie Mae Phillip and Ruby Lee Phillip; his brothers-in-law, Willie Mann, Eddie Briley and LeeRoy Windham; his niece Nichole Triplett; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Paul Richard, Kentril Banister, Kiara Phillip and Leonna Dalton-Phillip.
He is survived by: his nephew Charles Phillip (Charlie); his daughters, Sherita Partee and Candi Williams of Omaha, NE; and his siblings, Doris Windham (Etta Brown), Ann Rice of O'Fallon, IL, Emma Richard (Vera Mann), Janice Butler (John) of Omaha, NE, James Reese, John Phillip, Donald Phillip (Cheryl) of Omaha, NE and Dennis Phillip (Robin) of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great‑grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great‑nieces and great‑nephews and many friends.
