He was predeceased by: his wife Edna; his son Dennis; and his brother Richard Eckermann. He is survived by: his sons, Edward and Eugene, Jr. Eckermann (Lori); his siblings, Robert Eckermann (Pauline) and Mary Jo Dorgan (Larry); and his sister-in-law Jeannine Eckermann.
