He was predeceased by: his parents, John Albert "Al" and Mary Katherine "Mary Kay" Schalley (Manning) of Saint Joseph, Missouri; his brother Dennis Schalley of Smithville, Missouri; his son-in-law Jeff Overlease of Lee's Summit, Missouri; and his friend Frankie Harkrider of Saint Joseph.
He is survived by: his wife Karen (Snead); his children, John Schalley of Omaha, Jennifer Overlease (Jeff) of Lee's Summit, Jeff Schalley (Lisa) of Omaha, Jim Schalley (Sabrina) of Omaha and Julie Christensen (Chadd) of Omaha; his grandchildren, Sarah (Jake), Kyle, Noah, William, Mikaela, Megan, Andrew, Evan and Luke; his great grandchildren, Wyatt and Liam; and his pet Rusty Schalley. He is also survived by his family, including his five children, nine grandchildren.
For those wishing to honor Gordon's memory, the family is requesting in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Nebraska Humane Society or to the family, to be directed according to his wishes.
