She was predeceased by : her parents, Claude Heyer and Frances Heyer; her husband E. Warren Backlund; her sons, Chris and Mark; and her brothers, Jim and Warner Heyer.

She is survived by : her children, Nels Backlund (Jeanne) and Claudia West (Craig); her grandchildren, Travis Backlund (Kellie), Kyle Backlund (Stephany), Michelle Beck (Shaun), Rachel Anderson (Troy) and Hannah Houghton (Dan); her great grandchildren, Ethan, Ascher, Carter, Malin Beck, Karsen, Jase, Kieryn Backlund and Amelia Anderson; her sisters, Mary Reuter (Jim) and Patricia O'Brien; and her sister-in-law Beverly Brill.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pacific Street Chapel (14151 Pacific St, Omaha, NE 68154). A memorial service was held on Sunday, May 5th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Pacific Springs Chapel (805 S 173rd Ct, Omaha, NE 68118).
