He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Ehlers and Lucille Ehlers; and his brother Tom Ehlers. He is survived by: his wife Margie Ehlers; his siblings, Mary Stallone (Dick), Theresa Ehlers, Betty O'Connor (Jim), Jeannine "Nene" McManus (John), Margaret Egan (Terry), Donna Arnsperger (Jay), Kitty Milone (Carl), Shelly Aken (Greg), Clifford Ehlers (Mary) and Bernie Ehlers; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Fielmeier (Pam) and Jerry Fielmeier (Jill). He is also survived by 31 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the John A. Gentleman Mortuaries (14155 Pacific St, Omaha, NE 68154).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tabitha Hospice House in Jim's memory.
