He was predeceased by: his wife Carole Jean of Omaha; his brothers, John and Steve Martin; and his brothers-in-law, Col. Mort Cain and Bill Hammond.
He is survived by: his children, Julie Emsick, Ronald Martin (Lori), Paul Martin (Lori), Jay Martin (Sharon) and Jim Martin, Jr.; his siblings, Michael Martin (Debbie), Carolyn McKeag (Delbert), Karen Hammond, Mary Bilsland (Ivan) and Rev. Linda Martin; and his sister-in-law Joyce Cain. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Monday, June 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Christ Community Church (404 S 108th Ave, Omaha, NE 68154).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim's name to Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) or to Step Up to Life.
