James L. Reiss Obituary

He was predeceased by: his mother Katherine Reiss (DeVries); his son Jeffrey; his son-in-law Stuart Schlatz; his father Frederich Jr. Reiss; his siblings, Louida Golter (Lloyd), Landis Wiederspan (H. J.), Arlynn Reiss and Belva Jean DeBord (Ron); and his brother-in-law Rollie Haas.
He is survived by: his wife Marsha Vannoy (Nelson) of Omaha; his children, Joni Schlatz of Doniphan, Nebraska, Ann (Brad Fruhling) of Gretna, Nebraska and Timothy Vannoy (Kathy) of Leawood, Kansas; his daughter-in-law Sharon Reiss of Omaha; and his sister Audrey Haas of Mesa, Arizona. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Grand Hall (17545 Frances St, Omaha, NE 68130). A graveside service was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Wilcox Cemetery.
Memorials in Jim's honor can be designated to Immanuel Care Community, the Wilcox Community Foundation, Alzheimer's Association, or Camp Carol Joy Holling.
