She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Grau and Emma Grau (Neumeyer); her former husband Albert J. Powers; her husband Lawrence E. Howell; her siblings, Charles Grau and Judith Dare; and her children, Michael and Kathleen.
She is survived by: her siblings, Ted Grau, Jr. (Garland) and Jackie Jaap; her daughters, Christi Powers, Mary Colleen Bodemuller (Bob), Maureen Powers Wightman (Nate), Jeannine "Jenny" Powers and Jeannie; her grandchildren, Darcie Bodemuller, Ben Bodemuller (Amanda), Lindsey Totten, Rebecca Whitman (Cory), Alec and Dylan Wightman; and her great grandchild Kevin Totten. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
