She was predeceased by : her husband Roger D. Burns; her granddaughter Emma Patricia Burns; and her brothers, William and Stan Kolb. She is survived by : her sons, Kevin and Keith Burns (Paula); her grandchildren, Sarah "Sally" Sommer (Brian), Eric (Jordan), Ryan (Kristiann), Mark (Alyssa) and Jena Burns; her great grandchildren, Anson Sommer and Emma Lynne Burns; her grandchildren, Bodie Burns and Briar Dougherty; and her sister Patricia Amlin.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church (7020 Cass St, Omaha, NE 68132). A celebration of life was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
