As we bid Joyce Elaine farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joyce Elaine is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husband Duane "Skeeter" Bates; and her sons, Harry "Nick" Peterson and Randy Peterson. She is survived by: her siblings, Fred Johnson, Frances Chapman and Kathy Evans; her sons, Russell Peterson and Jeff Matheson (Sandra); and her stepdaughters, Debbie Carnes and Shelly Moore. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Korisko Larkin Staskiewicz Funeral Home (5108 F St, Omaha, NE 68117).
