He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Griffith Butler and J. Grove Butler; and his cousins, Robert Grove Griffith, Beverly Nell Reed Thompson and William Griffith Reed of Texas.
He is survived by: his close friend Joan Helseth; his daughters, Pam Fleckenstein and Pamela Fleckenstein of Nebraska; his cousins, Lynn Griffith, Wesley Reed of Colorado, Krecia Thompson-Brenden of Washington, Kyle Thompson of Washington and Keri Thompson of South Dakota; and also Linda Black. He is also survived by many other cousins and, innumerable brothers and friends.
