He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore "Ted" G. McGinnis and Mae I. McGinnis (Whigham); and his brother-in-law Dave Whitehill. He is survived by: his wife Bev McGinnis of Nebr; his son Tim McGinnis (Melissa) of Nebr; his grandchildren, Derek (Taylor), Kylan, Kasey (Kali) and Kendra (Owen); his great grandchild Hadlie; and his sisters, Deloris Whitehill of Mountain Grove, MO and Donna Whitehill (Vance) of Stapleton, NE.
Memorials may be given to the Nebraska City Fire Department or the Nebraska City Rescue Squad.
