As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Mary may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Maynard Sears and Georgia Sears (Wilder); and her daughter JoJo Patterson. She is survived by: her husband Steve Grup; her children, David Patterson (Amanda) and Laurie Elsasser (Alan) of Bellevue, NE; her sisters, Patty Mastin (Randy) of Omaha, NE and Misty Hakkanen (Paul) of Chugiak, AK; and her aunt Loretta Wilder of Fremont, NE. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel (545 Willow Ave, Council Bluffs, IA 51503).
Memorials will be directed by the family.
