She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. John Francis Gardiner, Sr. and Bonnie Gardiner (Kelley); her former husband James Lawrence Holmquist; her husband William Glover Porter, Jr.; and her siblings, Patricia Gardiner Hawkins, Sally Gardiner Gerich and John Francis Gardiner, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Catherine Holmquist, Linda Holmquist Senter, Joan Holmquist and Jeffrey Holmquist; and her sister Mary Elizabeth Gardiner DeMoss (Betsy). She is also survived by four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
