He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Coleman and Annie Matt Coleman (Parks); his children, Johnny Russell Reed and La'Sandra "Cookie" Manning-Hunt; his grandchildren, La'Sandra "Tootie" Coleman and Johnny Russell Reed, II; his brother Johnny C. Coleman; his grandparents, Robert, Annie Coleman (Haynes), Willie and Nellie Parks; his brothers-in-law, Ike Scott and Morris James Jackson; and his niece Linda S. Scott.

He is survived by: his children, Glenda "Glynis" Coleman-Lucas of California, Sandra V. Coleman of California, Bertha Jane Coleman of California, Shawnetta Coleman of California, Lisa (Freddie), LaTonia (Vincent), Da Quisha (Brandon) and Darrell; his sisters, Doris Estell and Annie P. Scott; and his friend Marla. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives.
