He was predeceased by: his father William George Hurd. He is survived by: his wife Mary Hurd (Monfore); his daughters, Dr. Elizabeth Edney (Matt) of Omaha, NE and Sara Hammel (Brian) of Novato, CA; his grandchildren, Emily, Joseph, Jack, Nicholas Edney, Claire, Catherine and Connor Hammel; his mother Jackie Hurd of Cherokee, IA; and his siblings, Nancy Miller (Rich) of Farwell, TX, Karen Lundell (John) of Dodgeville, WI, Bill Hurd (Terry) of Cleghorn, IA and Mike Hurd (Suzanne) of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends and neighbors.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (1203 Wood St, Springfield, SD 57062).
