He was predeceased by: his adoptive parents, Alexander Amend (Mabel Amend) and Mabel Amend; his parent Joann Richling Aikin of Beatrice, NE; and his brother Jim Aikin of Beatrice. He is survived by: his wife Mary Alice Keenan Amend; his children, Kristin Huber and Rocky Amend (Kalli); his sister Judy Sunderman (Rob) of Beatrice; his grandchildren, Tatum Huber, Brody Huber, Andrew Huber and Bobbi Amend; and his cousin Molly Chilinski (Gary) of Eloy, AZ. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. John Vianney (5801 Oak Hls Cir, Omaha, NE 68137). A rosary was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
