He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Horstmann and Hertha Horstmann (Hinzmann); his siblings, Lawrence Horstmann, Loren Horstmann, Norman Horstmann, Lela Mae Howland and Lois Cox; his siblings-in-law, Gerald Smith, Bill Cox, Melvin Howland, Noel Ruhkamp, Larry Seefus, Don Moles, Erma Horstmann and Linda Moles; his nephews, Richard Cox, Kevin Cox and David Cox; his niece Tonia Smith; and his great-nephew Joshua Seefus.

He is survived by: his wife Marvel Moles; his daughters, Julie Gasper (Michael) and Becky Tighe (Ryan); his grandchildren, Kolby Tighe and Jax Tighe; his great grandchild Cecilly "CeCe" Shearer; his grandson-in-law Brad Shearer; his sister Cleone Smith; his sisters-in-law, Judy Krugman, Janice Seefus and Peggy Ruhkamp; his former wife Marvel Horstmann; his nieces and nephews, Krista Schwindt (Don), Debbie Neuman (Jerry), Amy Hall (Jeff), Mary Zuhlke, Beth Garcia (Mike), Cheri Hageman, Renee Ruhkamp, Lynn Smith (Rozan), John Horstmann (Angie), Jay Seefus (Lori), Larry Seefus (Casey), Terry Seefus (Mary) and Jim Moles; Heinrich Wilhelm "William" Horstmann. He is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, great-grand-nieces and nephews; as well as many additional relatives, friends.
