He was predeceased by: his parents, Obed W. Smith and Marguerite A. Smith; his daughter Sheryl Lynn; and his brother Obed Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Shirley, Ron II (Denise) and Russ (Kitty); and his grandchildren, Sydney and Michael.
Visitation was held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home (5701 Center St, Omaha, NE 68106).
