He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Shoemaker and Cleta Shoemaker (McNichols) of O'Neill, NE.; his children, George, Jimmy Shoemaker and Margaret Pierce (Maggie); and his siblings, Gene Shoemaker and Joann Schaaf.
He is survived by: his wife Dianne; his children, Jo Ellen (John Akerboom), Maureen Shoemaker of Columbus, NE, Mary Long of Omaha, NE and Chris (Sarah Shoemaker); his son-in-law Lynn Pierce of Lincoln, NE; his grandchildren, Rachel, Brady, Olivia, Samantha, Haley, Seth, Jamie, Hannah, Nick and Jack; his great grandchild Emilia; and his siblings, Mary Ellen Humpal of La Crosse, WI and Jerry Shoemaker of O'Neill, NE. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
