He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Nelson and Lavonne Nelson (Lichty). He is survived by: his children, Lisa Janak (Jay) of Niobrara, Larissa Funk (Sam) of Norfolk and Lucas Nelson (Marissa) of Orchard, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Tessa, Lilly Janak, Paisley, Drake Funk, Ripp, Laramie Nelson and Cinch Nelson; his siblings, James Nelson of Verdigre, Michael Nelson (Candace) of Orchard and Mary Williby (Chris) of Royal, Nebraska; and his aunt Betty Hergert (Lichty). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Royal Auditorium.
