It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mansel Rice of Oshkosh, Nebraska, who passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Mansel departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Mansel. Though Mansel may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dottie Rice and Floyd Rice; his spouse Bob Wheelock; his brothers, Dallas Wheelock (Lucinda), Shaun Wheelock (Missy) and Nicky Bruesch; his daughter Chantel Scripter; his granddaughter Nayma Ratcliff; and his stepdaughters, Dawn (Shaun), Billie (Chris) and Amie (Cory). He was also cherished by 11 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; and other extended family members and many many friends.
