He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Michael and Roberta Ann Stout O'Hern; his wife Maxine O'Hern; his son Michael; his children-in-law, Marybeth O'Hern, Vicki Simonson and Doug Wegner; and his siblings, Tim O'Hern, Margaret Rubesh and Patsy Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Ron Simonson, Kathy Wegner, Shelley Pflipsen (Dwight), Randy Simonson (Monica) and Bryan Simonson (Lynn); his grandchildren, Nic Simonson (Kori), Max Simonson (Maggi), Mark Simonson (Tom), Ashley Cornelius (Blaine), Neil Wegner (Kate), Lindsay Nicholas, Zach Nicholas, Alex Pflipsen (Stephanie), Brianne Pflipsen, Logan Simonson (Karly), Bailey Williams (Darius), Brandon Simonson (Jacqui), Chelsey Clemens (Adam), Seth Simonson, Adaylee Rose (Josiah) and Milly O'Hern; his great grandchildren, Reese, Rowan Simonson, Maisy, Cora Simonson, Harper, Hensley, Huxten Wissing, Connar, Beau, Charlee Wegner, Aubryn Sparks (Justice), Eli, Kasey Simonson, Cohen, Scottie Lynn Williams, A. J., Clare Clemans, Marlee, Lucee, Jaxon Simonson, Mariah, Halle Gaulker, Rosie O'Hern and Everly Nicholas; his great great grandchildren, Adaylnn and Kohl; and his sister Jeanette Spiehs (Dick).
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Calendar Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (713 Elm St, St Paul, NE 68864). A rosary was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to the family, Palmer Fire and Rescue or American Legion Post 120.
